Job Summary

Responsible for directing accounting management and staff in support of the research, preparation, review, analysis and cost recovery of accounting transactions for AEP’s utility and non-utility subsidiaries.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Support operating company regulatory activities by directing regulatory accounting aspects of various regulatory filings before various commissions

  • Provide expert accounting testimony before regulatory commissions including the sponsoring of accounting exhibits and schedules contained in the filing requirements as defined by individual commissions

  • Direct the accounting support for operating company regulatory strategy, including preparation of regulatory analysis

  • Analyze and research accounting transactions

  • Direct the preparation of accounting instructions to other accounting departments as required from regulatory proceedings

  • Inform accounting management about regulatory activities

  • Direct regulatory accounting support for external audit

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 9 years in Accounting or 5 years directly related to regulatory or cost based rate activities.

  • CPA preferred.

  • Some travel required.

  • Overtime expected at times during the processing of cases.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills: accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Compensation Range:

$152,707.00-198,520.00 USD
